Abstract: Cognitive impairment poses a significant burden on individuals, families, and society worldwide. Despite the lack of effective treatment strategies, emerging evidence suggests that the microbiome–gut–brain (MGB) axis may play a critical role in the pathogenesis of cognitive impairment.
