Abstract:Background: Acute appendicitis is one of the most common causes of acute abdomen presentation to the emergency department. Appendicectomy is one of the most common emergency operations performed. Appendicitis is attributed to lymphoid hyperplasia or faecolith causing obstruction of the appendiceal lumen.
