Acute hepatitis associated with use of paroxetine

Abstract: Paroxetine belongs to the family of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors; these antidepressant drugs are becoming widely used because of their favourable side effects and safety profile. Hepatotoxicity due to paroxetine is very rare, and, to the best of our knowledge, only a few cases of severe liver injury following paroxetine administration have been reported in the medical literature.
