“…The most frequent clinical manifestations are retrosternal pain, dysphagia, and fever exploration is not recommended except for the extraction of foreign bodies. 1 The treatment of choice for the management of mediastinitis due to esophageal perforation is surgical drainage and debridement of the necrotic tissue, various surgical approaches have been described depending on the location of the perforation, either by cervicotomy, thoracotomy or thoracoscopy.
