Abstract

Adana and Osmaniye are the provinces with the highest share in the field of peanut production and cultivation in the country and make a great contribution to the country's economy. This study was carried out in Adana and Osmaniye provinces of Turkey in 2017 and 2018 to determine the distribution, infestation and population dynamic of cotton bollworm [Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) (Lepidoptera; Noctuidae)] in peanut cultivation areas. The larval and adult populations of the pest were followed weekly in two different fields, the larval population was directly counted on the plant, and the adult population was monitored using a funnel type pheromone trap.
