“…Studies from Tanzania [18], Pakistan [19,20], and Iran [21] support their potential benefits, but only one pilot RCT from Nepal focused specifically on pregnant women [22]. We therefore conducted qualitative research [23], identifying a South African model of brief problem-solving therapy [PST ; 24] as most contextually relevant to rural Ethiopia, and followed UK Medical Research Council (MRC)-affiliated 'ADAPT' guidance [25] to adapt it for the needs of pregnant women experiencing IPV in this setting.…”
