Abstract: Performance typically peaks at moderate arousal levels, consistent with the Yerkes-Dodson law, as confirmed by recent human and mouse pupillometry studies. Arousal states are influenced by neuromodulators like catecholamines (noradrenaline; NA and dopamine; DA) and acetylcholine (ACh).
