Adaptive filtering method combined with quality map for InSAS interferogram

Abstract: The quality of interferogram, which is limited by various phase noise, will greatly influence the subsequent processes of interferometric synthetic aperture sonar (InSAS), such as phase unwrapping and digital elevation model (DEM) estimation. Therefore, phase filtering is an essential step in signal processing for InSAS. In this paper, an adaptive filtering method combined with quality map is proposed to suppress the phase noise while preserving the fringe edges. The main advantage of the new approach is the s… Show more

“…Some of the data points are not visible in the image, either because certain equipment was not adjusted on the day of the satellite transit or due to the image's coverage area. Similarly, since synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) [26,27] is similar in principle to SAR, the FFT interpolation and selection of the center of the point target with a sliding window used in this section are also applicable to SAS.…”

“…Yang et al 50 proposed an interferogram filtering method with multilayer feature fusion neural networks. Huang et al 51 proposed an adaptive interferometric phase filtering method combined with quality maps, which adaptively determines the filter window size based on the correlation coefficient map, achieving good results and fast processing speeds. Among transform domain filter methods, Goldstein and Werner 52 proposed a method to filter interferometric phase noise in the frequency domain.…”
