Nowadays, real-time control networks are becoming an emerging trend in the application of several fields like in remote campaign telecasting. Networked control systems (NCSs) are denoted as spatially distributed systems where the actuators, controllers and sensors are linked over a common band-limited wireless/wired digital communication network. The communication of data in the network plays a pivotal role in a system for its accurate working and as such the network-induced delays becomes a major challenging factor in the transmission of data from one source to another source especially for systems with real-time applications. Therefore, this delay factor should be analyzed and improved further. To overcome this network-induced delay factor along with problems of packet dropouts, fault occurrence and also increasing the stability, a novel technique through this paper is proposed. Here, initially the parameter initialization is done and transmission of data in the network is estimated and evaluated by the use of PID controller which is responsible for estimating the delay factors at the time of communication of data between the nodes. Also, a fuzzy logic parameter is integrated with PID controller to get a measure of probabilistic delay and fault occurrence. Finally, output of this network system is improved by using a novel optimization technique like an improved grey wolf optimization and an enhanced whale optimization. Finally, the performance analysis is done and results thus obtained validates the utility of this method in terms of lower amount of delays with lesser packet dropouts and an enhanced accuracy level in comparison to the traditional methods.

This article investigates event-triggered control (ETC) of discrete-time Markov jump systems (MJSs) subject to hybrid cyber-attacks and unmeasured states. To reduce data transmission load, a mode-dependent event-triggered mechanism (ETM) has been developed. The unmeasured states are estimated using a Luenberger observer. Here deception attacks and DoS attacks are addressed. It is anticipated that input control signals sent across a network are vulnerable to cyber-attacks, in which adversaries could inject fake data into the control signals. So to secure the closed-loop system, sufficient conditions are derived. The solution of set matrix inequalities is used to build observer and controller gains. Finally, inverted pendulum applications are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the obtained theoretical results.

This study proposes an efficient novel approach for achieving optimal economic operation of a standalone hybrid energy system (SHES). Optimal economic operation is obtained through a balance between power outages, carbon emission footprint left by non-renewable resources and cost per unit of energy production of renewable energy resources. SHES with battery and without battery has been considered as two different strategies to examine the impact of the energy storage element. The resulting multi-objective function is optimised using a novel combination of ant colony optimisation (ACO) and cuckoo search (CS) algorithms. The proposed hybrid algorithm is verified against a set of well-known benchmark functions and the results are compared with ACO and CS optimisation techniques. To validate the performance of the proposed algorithm, simulations have been carried out using hourly meteorological data and load data for both strategies (without and with energy storage elements) called as strategies 1 and 2, respectively. It has been observed that strategy 2 exhibits superior performance. Comparative performance analysis of the proposed technique with ACO and CS technique has been analysed and better results have been exhibited with the proposed ACO-CS algorithm. Besides the system with energy storage element yields lesser cost.
