Abstract:Vibrational nonequilibrium is known to significantly influence flowfield and surface properties in a variety of hypersonic flows. Historical low fidelity CFD models for vibrational nonequilibrium, often based on a two-temperature approach, allow for efficient calculations at the cost of potentially large errors in computed output quantities. In contrast, high fidelity state resolved models are generally impractical for engineering analysis due to poor computational efficiency. While globally applied simplifica… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
