Adaptive Technology Application for Vibration-Based Diagnostics of Roller Bearings on Industrial Plants

Abstract: Roller bearings are widely used in equipment of different applications; therefore, the issues related to the assessment of bearing technical state and localization of bearing faults are quite important and relevant. The reason is that technical state of a bearing is a critical component, which determines efficiency of a mechanism or equipment. For bearings inspection and diagnostics, various methods of vibration-based diagnostics are used. The adaptive technology for vibration-based diagnostics developed in „D… Show more

“…Using parameters of the similar modes obtained by different estimators, and in different tests, the modal enhancement procedures reduce the uncertainty of primary modal estimates. Enhancement procedures are similar to vibration waveform enhancement in vibration diagnostics [ 29 , 30 , 31 ], but are performed in an imaginary N -dimensional space, rather than in the phase plane.…”

“…Modal enhancement is similar to the enhancement of the vibration waveform in vibration diagnostics [ 35 ], but is performed in an imaginary N -dimensional space, rather than in phase domain. The modal enhancement requires the sequence of modal estimate transformations, including normalizing the modal shape (eigenvectors), modes grouping, and the phase alignment of eigenvectors.…”
