Addition of chlorine atom on vinyl chloride

Abstract

The competitive photochlorination of vinyl chloride and ethane has been studied at 322OK and permits one to measure for the rate constant of the addition of a C1 atom on vinyl chloride. This value is compared with those obtained for other chlorinated ethylenes and is discussed with respect to recent theoretical calculations.
