Additions to the ETArch control plane to support multimedia QoS-guaranteed content transport over OpenFlow-enabled SDN future internet systems

Abstract: The Future Internet approach requires new solutions to support novel usage scenarios driven by the technological evolution and the new service demands. However, this paradigm shift requires deeper changes in the existing systems, which makes Internet providers reluctant in deploying the full transformation required for the Future Internet. The Entity Title Architecture (ETArch) is a holistic clean-slate Future Internet system embedding new services for these scenarios leveraging the Software Defined Networking… Show more

“…It included an SDN video quality orchestrator as well to manage multimedia flows and to ensure fairness. Castillo et al 12 proposed a modification of the Entity Title Architecture (ETArch) employing OpenFlow and the QoS control method from Support of Mobile Sessions with High Transport Network Resource Demand (SMART). It provides coordination over dynamic and admission control of superdimensioned resources to provide QoS and QoE to multimedia flows.…”

“…Some existing solutions would prefer to analyze a robust control for network congestion in SDNs [11][12][13]. Reference [11] focuses on robust network architecture without additional delays by establishing a prototype with the topology.…”

“…The authors in [12] modeled network congestion control model with additional time-delay elements to provide a prominent QoS based on Transmission Control Protocol/Active Queue Management (TCP/AQM) networks. In [13], Entity Title Architecture (ETArch) transport model was proposed to tackle QoS control problem. The prototypes or models are dependently established to analyze network congestion control in the current counterpart methods.…”

“…A ETArch é uma arquitetura que se propõe a atender requisitos da Internet do Futuro. Desde sua criação, pesquisadores de várias universidades vêm trabalhando para solucionar problemas presentes na arquitetura atual de Internet, como mobilidade (GUIMARAES et al, 2014), multicast (GONçALVES et al, 2014) e qualidade de serviço (QoS) (CASTILLO et al, 2014).…”
