The following study aimed to comprehend the expectations and perceptions about maternity and sexuality among adult women in childbearing age diagnosed with chronic kidney failure subject to peritoneal dialysis treatment in a hospital that belongs to Public Health System of Federal District. This is a cross-sectional descriptive study of qualitative nature. There were realized semi structured interviews with twelve women aged between 18 and 45 years old, after the signing of the free and informed consent. The qualitative analysis was made through the Bardin content analysis, with the support of data analysis program Iramuteq. It was evident that the interviewees considered the maternity important and a stimulus towards the confrontation of the disease. Concerning the sexuality of the interviewees, it was perceived the influence of the disease and consequently decrease that their self-esteem had in their sex life quality. Lastly, even with the limitations imposed by the fettle, a positive future perspective was demonstrated based of the hope of the cure, being the mentioned transplant as a form to bring back the normality, realize the dream of maternity and share in the development of children.
