“…Several meta-analyses (Li et al, 2013; Zheng et al, 2016) have found that adjunctive aripiprazole may be an effective and safe option for reducing the elevated prolactin induced by APs. A recent Cochrane protocol (Li et al, 2016) on adjunctive PGD for AP-induced hyperprolactinemia suggested that PGD might be a promising treatment strategy to suppress the elevated prolactin level. Consistent with our findings, a previous review (Bo et al, 2016b) which included a RCT (Wu et al, 2012) and two observational trials (Liang, 2013; Shi and Ding, 2013) also found that adjunctive metformin may improve hyperprolactinemia in schizophrenia patients.…”
