Subject. This article considers the national security ensuring as a condition for successful economic development.
Objectives. The article aims to analyze the mechanisms for protecting China's national interests in the context of the aggravation of the international situation and the slowdown in economic growth.
Methods. For the study, we used the methods of comparative and structural analyses.
Results. The article notes that China is currently implementing a policy of ensuring comprehensive security and paying special attention to preserving the country's territorial integrity, resolving territorial disputes, ensuring access to natural resources, protecting intellectual property, and preventing threats associated with the development of information technology.
Conclusions. Despite complicated relationships with Japan, India, and the United States, armed conflicts involving China are unlikely in the near future.
