ABSTRACT:Objective: To analyze the predictive factors of abortion among teenagers with gestational history. Methods: Cross-sectional study carried out with 464 teenagers aged between 15 and 19 years, from Teresina, Piauí, who completed a pregnancy in the first quarter of 2006 in six city maternity hospitals. Data were collected from May to December 2008, at the teenagers' home, after their identification in the hospital records. For the univariate analysis of data, descriptive statistics was used, and for bivariate analysis, Pearson's χ 2 -test and Z-test were applied. Multivariate analysis was performed by means of the Multiple logistic regression (MLR), with significance level of 5%. Results: Teenagers who had more than one pregnancy were almost nine times more likely to have an abortion when compared to those who had only one pregnancy (p = 0.002). Furthermore, the teenagers who reported being pressured by the partner to have an abortion were four times and a half more likely to do it, when compared to those pressured by relatives and friends (p = 0.007). Conclusion: The teenagers who had two or more pregnancies and were pressured by the partner to have an abortion were more prone to do it. Thus, it is necessary that programs of Family Planning include the teenagers more effectively, aiming at avoiding unwanted pregnancies among this population and, consequently, abortion induced in poor conditions.

RESUMOObjetivo: conhecer os fatores que influenciam na escolha da via de parto, na perspectiva de gestantes, puérperas e médicos obstetras. Métodos: estudo exploratório, descritivo, com abordagem qualitativa. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram gestantes, puérperas e médicos obstetras vinculados à Hospitais/Maternidades particulares de Goiânia/GO. Utilizou-se entrevista aberta em profundidade e aplicação de questionários para coletar os dados; análise de conteúdo foi aplicada. Resultados: dos 46 participantes, 20 eram gestantes, 20 puérperas e seis obstetras. As gestantes apresentavam renda familiar relativamente baixa e preferiram a cesariana. Mais da metade dos obstetras referiu realizar mais cesárea. Todas as puérperas estavam internadas, em pós-parto imediato; a grande maioria submetida ao procedimento cirúrgico e alegou satisfação com este. Conclusão: influência da família e da sociedade; medos, receios e condição socioeconômica foram os principais fatores que influenciaram a escolha da via de parto neste estudo. Methods: This exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The study subjects were pregnant women, lactating women and obstetricians linked to private Hospitals/Maternity of Goiânia city. We used in-depth structured interviews and questionnaires to collect data, content analysis was applied. Results: of the 46 participants, 20 were pregnant, 20 postpartum women and six obstetricians. The women had relatively low family income and preferred to cesarean section. More than half of obstetricians reported performing more cesareans. All women were hospitalized in the immediate postpartum period, the majority referred to the surgical procedure and claimed satisfaction with this. Conclusion: the influence of family and society; fears, fears and socioeconomic status were the main factors that influenced the choice of mode of delivery in this study. Objective: This study aimed to describe the predisposing causes for pregnancy among adolescents and their knowledge on the prevention methods. Method: This is an exploratory, descriptive, and quantitative research carried out at basic health units in the town of Sao Caetano, Pernambuco, Brazil, in September and October 2011. For data collection, one used a semi-structured questionnaire applied to 42 adolescents enrolled for prenatal care. Results: The findings show that most adolescents was around 16 years of age, brown skinned, literate, and Catholic, lived with her partner, and had a low socioeconomic status. One's own wish (54,8%) stood out as the main cause for pregnancy in the population under study. Conclusion: One found out there's a need for investing on strategies for providing these female adolescents with guidance, so that contraceptive practices and the responsible exercise of sexuality start being realized as positive and usual behaviors
