“…This result might be contributed by the fact that the PSS‐coated MNPs submerged in hydrogen peroxide solution will lead to the formation of hydroxyl free radicals through Fenton reaction. The highly oxidative hydroxyl free radicals formed will oxidize the MB dyes on the adsorbent surface, 40 which will eventually help in the recovery of PSS‐coated MNPs, as shown in Fig. 7(b).…”

“…With further increasing the dosage of H 2 O 2 to 6.5 mmol L −1 , a slightly decrease in the catalytic efficiency can be seen due to the scavenging effect of • OH radicals by the excess of H 2 O 2 . Moreover, hydroperoxyl radicals generated in the existence of excess H 2 O 2 present a weaker oxidation potential than hydroxyl radicals, reducing the oxidation efficiency of organic compounds (Sahoo et al 2014;Unal et al 2019). Thus, the H 2 O 2 concentration of 2.5 mmol L −1 , which reached 93% of color removal in 60 min, was determined to be the appropriate dosage for Ponceau 4R removal by the photo-Fenton process catalyzed by FeIn 2 S 4 .…”
