Abstract:Poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) adsorption behavior on kaolinite surfaces in an aqueous solution was investigated through experiments, the density functional theory (DFT), and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The experimental results showed that as the PEO concentration increased, the adsorption capacity first increased then slightly decreased and the turbidity change was opposite. The adsorption isotherm on the kaolinite surface was more suitable for the Langmuir model and valid for single-layer adsorption. Th… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
