Adsorption Behavior of Sr(II) and some Typical Co‐existent Metals Contained in High Level Liquid Waste onto a Modified Macroporous Silica‐Based Polymeric DtBuCH18C6 Composite

Abstract: To significantly reduce the bleeding of 4,49,(59)-di(tert-butylcyclohexano)-18-crown-6 (DtBuCH18C6), an improved novel macroporous silica-based polymeric composite (DtBuCH18C6+TBP)/SiO 2 -P was synthesized. It was performed by impregnating and immobilizing DtBuCH18C6 into the pores of the SiO 2 -P particles via the molecular modification of DtBuCH18C6 with a trin-butyl phosphate (TBP) through hydrogen bonding. The adsorption of a few typical simulated fission and non-fission products Pd(II), La(III), Na(I), K(… Show more

“…The adsorption behavior of Sr(II) was similar to that of literature reported [20][21][22][23]. But, it should be noted that the type of molecule modifier also effect the adsorption of Sr(II).…”

“…In the previous work, the DtBuCH18C6 impregnated on SiO 2 -P for adsorption of Sr(II) has been investigated [20][21][22][23], but few data were reported about adsorption kinetics, equilibrium and adsorption behavior of continuous column. In this study, we have attempted to load the DtBuCH18C6 and a molecule modifier, 1-dodecanol, into SiO 2 -P by using its high immobilizing ability for the selective separation of Sr(II) from HLLW.…”

“…These extraction resins suffered from the leak of the ligands during the adsorption and elution processes, as well as the obvious decrease of separation efficiency in environment with higher acidity [21]. To overcome the disadvantage, here, we reported for the first time a novel kind of polysiloxane resin with the DCH18C6 ligand covalently-attached on the silica matrix.…”

“…To overcome the drawbacks of large secondary waste, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and exorbitant cost involved in liquid-liquid extraction employing exotic extractants, supported liquid membranes and solid liquid extraction have gained prominence for the separation of metal ions in millimolar range [21][22][23]. In the present work, chromatographic resin, impregnated with DTBCH18C6 in n-octanol (available commercially) was used for the purification of leached Sr (II).…”
