Abstract:Adsorption isotherms of hydrophobic substances (methylparaben, coumarin, vanillin, isovanillin, and caffeine) onto a chromatographic organic monolith were measured at 24℃. Adsorption isotherms of coumarin and caffeine were linear and were expressed by the Henry equation. On the other hand, the isotherms of methylparaben, vanillin, and isovanillin were non-linear and could be expressed by combining the Henr y and Langmuir equations. Among the adsorbates having almost the same molecular masses, vanillin was adso… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
