The secondary metabolites are produced by plants in response to biotic and abiotic stress conditions, and the quantity of secondary metabolites increases under stress conditions. Plants' therapeutic and nutritive qualities are influenced by secondary metabolites. Therefore, medicinal plant extracts can be used to create natural medical treatments. Sometimes these compounds are used to prevent diseases, and sometimes they are used for treatment purposes. Cancer is one of the deadly diseases of today. Treatment methods include chemotherapy, radiotherapy and medications and each accompanied by its share of side effects. Sometimes, when medications prove ineffective, people seek treatment from natural methods. In this study, the plant Sideritis libanotica and its main component "9-Octadecenamide, (Z)-", was discussed. The effect of the compounds of this plant on colon cancer was evaluated by molecular docking method. Chemical components were determined from the Sideritis libanotica methanol extract, the inhibitory activities of these phytochemicals against the Crystal structure of colon cancer protein (PDB ID: 3DTC and 4UYA) downloaded from the Protein Data Bank site were compared.
