Abstract:Waste beneficiation is key to environmental protection and the realisation of a circular economy. Herein, amorphous alumina (a-Al2O3) derived from aluminium waste cans (AWC) was used to modify plantain stalk as an adsorbent for sequestration of lead (II) and chromium (VI) ions from electroplating wastewater. Raw plantain-stalk (RPS) and amorphous-alumina modified plantain stalk (APS) developed as adsorbents were characterised using various equipment such as x-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
