Adsorption Of Methylene Blue from Aqueous Solution with Sulfuric Acid Activated Corn Cobs: Equilibrium, Kinetics, and Thermodynamics Assessment

Abstract: N atural waters are getting more and more polluted due to the activities of many industry organizations such as juice, coffee, and cereal processing plants. The contamination of the water used for drinking and other purposes by partially treated or untreated discharges from chemical industries, petrochemical industries, oil refineries, oil spills, rolling steel mills, unrefined domestic sludge, and pesticide runoff threaten both human health and environmental health [1]. Dyestuffs, one of many different types … Show more

“…The ΔH value can also help to decide whether the adsorption is chemical or physical. The enthalpy value of physical adsorption is generally not greater than 4 kJ/mol and for chemical adsorption not less than 20 kJ/mol [39,40]. The ΔH value is 12.0 kJ/mol (Table 4), which means that the adsorption of Cr(VI) ions on CCs-AC is slightly chemical rather than physical.…”

“…For the characterization of HS and HS-AC the effects of pH, contact time, temperature, and amount of adsorbateadsorbent as adsorption tests from aqueous solution were investigated in conjunction with equilibrium, kinetic, and thermodynamic parameters (Bozbeyoglu et al 2020).…”
