Abstract:The widespread detection of per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) within the groundwater system, which represents a major drinking water source, poses serious public health risks. Because of the recalcitrant nature of many PFAS such as perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs), their transport and fate within groundwater aquifers are determined by their interactions with the aquifer materials. The focus of this study is to quantify the adsorption of PFAAs by aquifer materials under environmentally relevant conditions. … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
