Adsorptive Desulfurization of Liquid Hydrocarbons Utilizing Granular Cu/Cr-BDC@γ-Al2O3 Bimetal-Organic Frameworks

Abstract: A Cu/Cr-BDC@γ-Al2O3 granular bimetal-organic framework was synthesized for the first time, and its performance in adsorption of thiophene from isooctane was investigated. XRD, BET, FT-IR, SEM, and EDX analysis confirmed the successful synthesis of the adsorbent. The adsorption performances of Cr-BDC, Cu-BDC, and Cu/Cr-BDC were compared, and the bimetallic adsorbent had a better performance due to the synergetic effects of the simultaneous presence of metals. Furthermore, the granular adsorbent had a better per… Show more

“…Figure S5a represents the FT-IR spectra of prepared Cu-BDC and NiMo/Cu-BDC composite. The two sharp characteristic bands at 1386 and 1608 cm –1 are indexed to the symmetric and asymmetric stretching modes of −COOH, respectively. , The peaks at 829 and 887 cm –1 correspond to the out-of-plane and in-plane aromatic C–H bending. , The bands at 755 and 1501 cm –1 are related to the phenyl ring. , The observed peaks at 458 and 567 cm –1 can be considered as the stretching vibration peaks of Cu–O. , The small peak at about 2900 cm –1 is attributed to the aromatic −C–H stretching vibration . The band at 1666 cm –1 is assigned to the carbonyl group in DMF .…”

“…Nowadays, in several scientific fields, nanoparticles with nanosized particles smaller than 100 nm have been extensively examined [6]. Also, metal nanoparticles such as Ag [7], Cu [8], and Al [9], metal oxide such as Fe 3 O 4 [10,11], Al 2 O 3 [12], and TiO 2 [13], carbon-based nanoparticles such as graphene [14], and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) [15] are among the most common nanoparticles. For enhancing heat transfer, graphene and carbon nanotubes have greater thermophysical characteristics than other nanomaterials.…”
