Show more

“…Research has shown that greater diameters of cob can be derived from periods of energy deficit by the plant, through the remobilization of photoassimilates to drains, where they do not contribute to the genotype productivity (Carvalho et al, 2014). Studies observed that the size of the cob can be influenced by the population density (Kappes et al, 2011), environmental conditions (Carmo et al, 2012;Monteiro et al, 2016), phosphate (Figueiredo et al, 2012) and nitrogen fertilizers (Kappes et al, 2009;Demari et al, 2016).…”

“…Guareschi et al (2011) reported that polymer coating of superphosphate and potassium chloride 15 days prior to planting increased dry matter and grain yields while no significant differences were reported with polymer applications at planting. According to De Figueiredo et al (2012), polymer-coated Monoammonium Phosphate (MAP) increased corn production.…”

“…Little research focused on seed polymer nutrient coating in soybeans under dryland environments and mostly insufficient rainfall. According to De Figueiredo et al (2012), polymer-coated fertilizer need to be evaluated for improving efficiency of nutrients. Therefore, objective of this study was to evaluate polymer micronutrient seed coating on soybeans under dryland conditions in Southeastern Coastal Plains.…”

“…Using technologies to improve P efficiency is a good alternative in crop production (De Figueiredo et al, 2012). According to McLaughlin et al (2011), slow release P products improve nutrient use efficiency in soils with leaching problems.…”

“…McLaughlin et al (2011) indicated that P use efficiency is generally low in first year and residual effect is important for the following crop. Moreover, polymer-coated fertilizer should be evaluated for improving nutrient efficiency (De Figueiredo et al, 2012). Therefore, objective of this study was to evaluate polymer coated P applied to winter wheat previous crop on soybeans under dryland conditions in Southeastern Coastal Plains.…”
