This article describes a proposal about remote laboratory as an alternative to traditional laboratories, where it manipulate, in an automated and remote way, the level of a liquid in the Compact Workstation FESTO to identify its process to open loop, and finally, to control to closed loop. A PLC sends analog signals to regulate the operation of the pump in the FESTO, so the flow and the water level are handled. Then, an ultrasonic level sensor reads the level in the tank and sends current signals to the PLC for data acquisition. Three software tools are used: DirectSOFT for PLC programming, LabVIEW for graphical interface and data processing and NI OPC Servers for communication between the PLC and LabVIEW. The results have been applied in Industrial Control subject of University of Piura, fulfilling the objectives of the subject.
