Yellow rust is important wheat pathogen with newly emerging races all over the world. These newly emerged races resulted in epidemics and posed a food security threat. To know the virulence trends of yellow rust pathogen, we carried out a field study of yellow rust pathogen. The objective was to check the virulence potential of pathogen on adult plant stage of known genes for resistance. Triticale and wheat isogenic lines with Yr2, Yr3a, Yr4a, Yr5, Yr6+?, Yr7+?, Yr8, Yr9, Yr10, Yr15, Yr17, YrSP are found effective against the Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst). The study will be helpful in selection of wheat cultivars with resistant genes.
