Advancement and Validation of new Derivatives Spectrophotometric Method for Individual and Simultaneous Estimation of Diclofenac Sodium and Nicotinamide

Abstract: Derivative spectrophotometry, which is primarily based on the first and second derivative spectra of absorption, was applied for individual and simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of diclofenac sodium (DS) and nicotinamide (NAM) in the ultraviolet region. The method depends on 1st and 2nd derivative UV spectrophotometry, with the amplitude of peak-to-base line, peak to peak, the area under peak at selected spectrum intervals and zero-crossing at certain wavelengths for each compound measurement. Unde… Show more

“…Table 2 shows the comparison techniques used for the determination of PA, DF, and TR. It should be clearly emphasized that the proposed voltammetric procedure using the aSPCE/SDS mostly allows a significantly lower LOD to be obtained than those obtained for other techniques [7][8][9][10][11][12]14,[16][17][18]47]. In the case of the article [9], the calculated LOD of TR is lower (5.33 × 10 −10 vs. 1.71 × 10 −9 mol L −1 ), but the first concertation of TR from the calibration graph is higher than the one obtained at the aSPCE/SDS (1.67 × 10 −8 vs. 1.0 × 10 −8 mol L −1 ).…”

“…Due to the possible side effects for humans as well as the negative impact on the environment, it is extremely important to develop sensitive and accurate methods for the determination of the presented drugs in samples of biological fluids and environmental samples. There are many analytical methods such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) [7][8][9], liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) [10][11][12], gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) [13][14][15], and spectrophotometry [16][17][18], which are used to determine paracetamol, diclofenac, and tramadol. However, these methods are generally costly, requiring a time-consuming sample preparation step.…”

“…Tus, after being approximately converted depending on their molecular weights, mass ratios of 1 : 3, 1 : 2, 1 : 1, 1 : 0.5, 1 : 0.33, and 1 : 0.17, respectively, were used. Tere are many UV spectrophotometric techniques, including a pharmacopeial method for NCT [21][22][23] in addition to other methods such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), including a pharmacopeial method for IND [24][25][26] and electrochemical techniques [27,28] while the whole NCT range of absorption interfered with the signal of IND [9,29]. Our proposed analysis methods are the frst ones to simultaneously determine both IND and NCT.…”

“…NCT does not absorb visual light. Instead, it has a sharp absorbance peak in the UV domain at 262 nm [ 12 , 27 ]. TRT absorbs visual light with wavelengths less than 440 nm.…”
