Advances in artificial intelligence for the colour industry

Abstract: The use of artificial intelligence in finding solutions to traditional and emergent colorimetric problems is reviewed. Developments in artificial intelligence are briefly discussed and some of the more prominent ideas are described. Rather than give the complete background to specific technologies that are being used, the author considers the application of these technologies. Applications relevant to practical colour measurement are considered that complement the CMC(2:l) equation.
