Advances in the Study of Structural Modification of Aspirin and Their Biological Activities

Abstract: Aspirin (ASP), the first synthetic drug, is widely used as a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It displays a variety of biological activities, such as anti-thrombosis, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, etc. A lot of works about the synthesis and related activity evaluation of its derivatives were reported. There are four kinds of derivatization methods: skeleton derivatization, prodrug derivatization, twin derivatization and metal coordination derivatization. According to the different modification sites, ske… Show more

“…8 Particularly, trapping arynes with different organosulfur reactants has been developed for the synthesis of various sulfur-containing compounds, such as functionalized sulfides, 9` b c d e thioxanthones, 9f,g triarylsulfonium salts, 9h,i benzothiazoles, 9j benzothiophenes, 9` l m thianthrenes, 9n aryl triflones, 9o and so on. 9p q As an important type of thiosulfonylating agent, thiosulfonates have been applied successfully in different reactions. 10 However, reactions involving thiosulfonates and arynes have been examined far less.…”
