“…The value of addressing the health of parents of aggressive children is reflected in various efforts to build into parenting programs components that target parental dysfunction or distress. Examples include strategies for addressing marital dissatisfaction (e.g., Dadds et al, 1987), emotion dysregulation (e.g., Roos et al, 2021), problem solving and coping (e.g., Chacko et al, 2008), interpersonal distress (Webster-Stratton & Herbert, 1994), social support (Dadds & McHugh, 1992), self-compassion (e.g., Jefferson et al, 2020), and mindfulness (e.g., Parent & DiMarzio, 2021).
