Objetivo: Analizar los controles prenatales insuficientes en adolescentes primigestas. Método: Descriptiva observacional. Resultados: El 25% de adolescentes primigestas dicen conocer os riesgos que se pueden presentar por no asistir al Control Prenatal es la presencia de traumatismos al nacer él bebé. Conclusión: Concientizar a las adolescentes primigestas mediante la asistencia del control prenatal, reduciendo así las complicaciones que ponen en riesgo la salud de la madre y él bebe en el parto prematuro y el bajo peso al nacer que ponen en riesgo la salud del bebé. La sociabilización de la importancia de asistir al control prenatal en adolescentes primigestas y el cumplimiento del número de controles prenatales establecidos en nuestro país, es la garantía para lograr niños sanos y madres saludables.

Motherhood plays a vital role in society. It greatly influences the personality and disposition of a child. Teenage pregnancy is one of the major international social issues; nonetheless, the available literature seemed to address this issue quite indecorously. Thus, this study intended to identify the dynamics and causes of teenage pregnancy based on the context of those who experienced it. This study mainly focused on the personal health risk experiences, struggles, and coping of teenage pregnancy. A semi-structured in-depth interview with 35 teenage mothers was conducted. The researchers carefully transcribed the conversations, then read and re-read, then summarized the musings and verbalizations of the participants. A descriptive Phenomenological approach was utilized to analyze the data. Then, the missing psyche, unwanted, social judgment, embrace (MUSE) Phase of Teenage Pregnancy emerged. This was validated using “critical-friend and correspondence technique”. Each phase reflects the onset, coping and struggles on becoming a teenage mother from conception to rearing the child. The discussion poses a unique perspective on understanding the phases of teenage pregnancy coming from the point of view of those who experienced it, which is vital in making efforts to prevention and intervention.<br /><br />

Integrated Theory-Based Health and Development Interventions for Young People: A Global Scoping Review

Background Most health and developmental issues affecting young people are interrelated. However, few interventions address multiple behavioral domains simultaneously or are based on theories that encompass a holistic perspective of youth development. Aim The purpose of this scoping review was to identify and describe the range of theory-based, multibehavioral health interventions aimed at improving two or more of the following behavioral youth outcomes: (1) sexual and reproductive health; (2) education and employment; (3) violence; and (4) substance use. Methods Interventions conducted worldwide and published in English or Spanish between January 2000 and July 2020 were identified using four databases: PubMed, PsycINFO, LILACS, and SciELO. Results A total of 11,084 articles were identified, of which 477 were retrieved and assessed for eligibility. Twenty-three articles (evaluating 21 interventions) ultimately met the inclusion criteria. Most interventions were conducted in the United States and addressed two behavioral domains of interest, although seven interventions incorporated three domains, and one incorporated all four. Substance use was the most common domain (16 interventions) but only in the United States/Canada, followed by sexual and reproductive health (14 interventions). All produced significant improvement in at least one outcome or for at least one subgroup of youth. The most common theoretical foundations were positive youth development and social learning theory. Conclusion Integrated interventions that are theory based and evidence informed can support positive development and empower youth to make healthy decisions. Further efforts are needed to address structural and policy issues that affect young people’s developmental opportunities and health outcomes.
