Aerological risk management in designing, operation, closure and temporary shutdown of coal mines

Abstract: The currentness of the development of a scientifically founded calculation and methodological framework for the assessment and management of aerological risks is governed by the required enhancement of high-intensity coal production, distortion of project design in the course of mining, low efficiency and unsafety of mine ventilation schemes and inefficient gas emission control. The information and analysis data support developed by this article authors enables decision-making on aerological risk management ba… Show more

“…However, despite the fact that the use of these methods of normalisation of mine workings atmosphere makes a significant contribution to mine safety, we believe that they are insufficient to achieve due to the possibility of formation of local accumulations of methane and the lack of tools for its early detection. This, in turn, in case of violation of requirements to the conduct of technological and production process, lack of informing the mine personnel about the rules of behaviour when being near or in the FD, as well as other factors can lead to emergencies of varying severity and consequences [2,3,19].…”

“…Application software systems specialized in the field of mining operations are analyzed in detail. Moreover, some of them are used both at the stage of quarry design and during various types of monitoring, primarily monitoring the state of industrial safety during quarry operation (Table 1) [1,12,15].…”
