“…Likewise, alkaloids were predominant in the polar extracts. Alkaloids exist predominantly in the polar form with a small amount of nonpolar properties (Yadav, Bamotra & Tandon 2020). This could be the reason why they were present in most of the extracts, because they dissolve in neutral water and polar organic solvents such as chloroform and methanol.…”
