Aetiological Examination of Recurrent Urinary Stone Formers in General Practice

Abstract: As a part of a project performed in general practice 93 recurrent urinary stone formers were examined by means of a programme comprising a thorough medical history, clinical examination, serum determinations, a chemical stone analysis, two consecutive 24h urine collections and i.v.-pyelography. “…Twenty-three recurrent urinary stone formers were treated for median 40 (range 12-51) months with a daily dose of 50 mg hydrochlorthiazide, and 25 patients were treated for median 38 (range 1245) months with placebo.
