Agenda driven mobility modelling

Abstract: Mobility modeling is an essential component of wireless and mobile networking research. It assists planning, developing and evaluating protocols and mobile systems. A simulated mobile world provides flexibility for constructing scenarios that closely resemble the real world. Our proposed mobility model emphasizes humans' social roles when making movement decisions. Our model, the Agenda Driven Mobility Model, takes into consideration a person's social activities in the form of agenda (when, where and what) for… Show more

“…The most comprehensive approach of this group is presented in [12]. The model incorporates detailed geographic topology, personal schedules and motion generators defined for more than 30 different types of activities.…”

“…They are typically concerned with the regular reappearance to a set of preferred locations [9] or with the length of paths travelled by the users [10]. Similarly, there are models mostly focused on the accurate representation of the time-varying behavior of users, often relying on very detailed schedules of human activities [11] [12]. Finally, the class of social-based mobility models aims to exploit the relation between sociality and movements, and to formalize social interactions as the main driver of human movements [13] [14].…”

“…More specically, this model preserves two fundamental characteristics, the skewed location visiting preferences and the periodical reappearance of nodes in the same location. An agenda-based mobility model is proposed in [40], in which authors predict the movement of humans based on the trace of the people in the city. en routing decision is made according to these information.…”
