Abstract:Background: Agenesis of the internal carotid artery (ICA) is a rare anatomic variation of the cerebral circulation. A malfunction during the embryonic period is at stake. It is very often asymptomatic and therefore discovered incidentally. Association with ischemic stroke is exceptional.
