Agent-based knowledge acquisition

Abstract: Abstract. This paper presents our approach for knowledge acquisition from multiple experts. In order to build a cooperative KBS, representing the knowledge of several experts and intended to multiple users inside an organization, we propose a model of cognitive agent for guiding the process of knowledge acquisition. This model of agent can serve as a basis for specifying the future KBS to be integrated in the organization. An agent-based knowledge acquisition is then seen as the process of identifying the adeq… Show more

“…Similarly, in organizations people interact (or socialize: Nonaka, 1994) to achieve specific goals. This goal-driven behavior is also studied in the context of multi-agent systems in the area of artificial intelligence (Dieng et al, 1994). Interactions can revolve for example around product design and development, or planning and customer support.…”

“…The main role taken by the ontology is that of a mediating mechanism between people alone, people and computational systems, computational systems alone and finally enterprises as a whole. The general model is intended to be further specialized into a set of models to be stored in a library, as advocated also by general MAS knowledge acquisition methodologies like that proposed in [13].…”

“…Knowledge required to refine agent models includes (1) knowledge of an agent's priorities with respect to its processes, (2) knowledge of which and how information is exchanged with other agents and the external world, (3) knowledge of how information received from the external world and other agents is to be analysed and 4knowledge of how co-operative an agent is in given situations in relation to other agents. (In [8], other approaches to agent-based knowledge modelling can be found).…”
