Agent-Oriented Based Enterprise Architecture Implementation Methodology

Abstract: Abstract. Enterprise Architecture (EA) is managed, developed, and maintained by Enterprise Architecture Implementation Methodology (EAIM). There is ineffectiveness in existing EAIMs due to the complexities; these complexities come from EAIM's processes, models, methods, and strategy. Consequently, EA projects may be faced with lack of support in the following parts of EA: requirement analysis, governance and evaluation, a guideline for implementation, and continual improvement of EA implementation. This resear… Show more

“…It is depicted as a two-dimensional classification for architectural descriptions and also it is a basic structure for EA. Zackman's framework only covers architecture and does not include a strategic planning methodology (Rouhani et al, 2015), and also so many elements (30 cells) are explained in detail that causes complexity.…”

“…It uses the iterative architecture development method with top-down architecture and has more focus on IT development (De Vires, 2010). TOGAF provides broad documents about its method and process but accessing and employing them is time-consuming and it is not easy to use (Rouhani et al, 2015).…”

“…The combination of the Zachman Framework and architecture process represents the strategy to selectively guide an enterprise through the selection, creation and analysis of models (Kappelman and Zachman, 2013). Thus, only organisations that have gone through one or more EA iterations processes have a distinct advantage in managing change (Hernández et al, 2014), which has been one of the challenges for many enterprise architects (Rouhani et al, 2015). However, there is an advantage, which is the existence of models, whose purpose is to aid the impact gained from carrying out analysis, and the experience of model creation and scenario analysis.…”

“…Based on such beneficial premise, many organisations use the EA for these aforementioned purposes, which include competitiveness, sustainability and adaptiveness, rather than reminiscing about the way things used to be or how they were done. However, implementation of EA continues to be challenging in many organisations (Rouhani et al, 2015). As a result, different approaches have been used by various organisations to increase chances of successful implementation towards sustainability and competitiveness (Safari et al, 2016).…”
