Fluorescence in Doubly Doped KCl : Eu2
CrystalsLow temperature (4.2 K) emission spectra and fluorescence lifetime characteristics of SmZ+ ions are examined in doubly doped KCl:EuZ+, SmZ+ crystals. It is shown that except for the aggregation products composed of individual dopants, some aggregates containing both dopants simultaneously are formed. In crystals with high EuZ+ concentration the emission decay ascribed to the latter centres implies an effective energy transfer from SmZ+ to EuZf ions accompanied by a drastic drop of the decay constant.
