Abstract:This chapter explores the profound impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on quality and patient safety in healthcare. It discusses the role of AI in enhancing the utility of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), conducting virtual audits, improving healthcare delivery in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), and identifying adverse events. Additionally, it examines the potential disadvantages of AI, including data privacy concerns, algorithmic bias, and the risk of over-reliance on AI systems.
