AI-Powered Emotional Intelligence in Nursing

Abstract

This chapter explores the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing Emotional Intelligence (EI) among nurses, with a focus on Older People care. It addresses critical issues such as moving and handling, falls prevention, loneliness, elder abuse, medicine management, ageing in place, oncology, nutrition, and hydration management. The chapter emphasises the importance of AI tools in training nurses, enhancing patient interactions, and improving healthcare outcomes. The integration of AI-powered EI not only advances patient care but also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by fostering healthier ageing populations, reducing healthcare disparities, and promoting well-being in older adults.
