Air Gap Control System for Hydrogenerators

Abstract: In this paper, we report of the solving the actual problem of control the air gap in the hydrogenerators. The aim of the study was development of a computerized information-measuring system for measuring the air gap in the hydrogenator, which used two capacitive sensors with parallel coplanar electrodes, and the method of determining the shape of the envelope parameters hydrogenerator rotor poles relative to the center axis of rotation, using the measurement results of the air gap.In practical studies of the s… Show more

“…To achieve the goal of reducing the dimensions of the SMT and its location in close proximity to the primary measuring transducer, as suggested in [8], we use the second way -scaling using the capacitor C1. In this case, choose the maximum value close to the standard measurement range of 4 pF of the capacitance-code converter AD7745 / AD7746 and AD7747 manufactured by Analog Devices [16].…”

“…Specialized sensors are used in the systems to obtain primary information. At the same time, taking into account the variety of types of powerful generators used in the UES of Ukraine, there is a need to develop sensors taking into account the design features of generators and research of their primary and secondary converters [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10].…”
