Air quality and water quality monitoring using XBee and internet of things

Abstract: There are numbers of disadvantage in the current existing systems for water quality monitoring which are generally limited to only a few varieties of parameter provide when there and need to be sending through manual operation. This type of security systems required a device which could send alert signal to the sub – stations and is very time consuming process. The quick warning or alert is not possible in the current existing system because they need some manual operation to be performed which could send the … Show more

“…In the literature, different studies integrated WSN with IoT to transfer the collected data from pH, temperature, turbidity and dissolved oxygen sensors to monitor the quality of water in real time [47][48][49][50][51][52]. In some articles, IoT-based real-time water quality monitoring systems were designed and developed using the Zigbee module to transmit the data via WSN [2,4,19,[53][54][55]. Also, blockchain technology was integrated with IoT, WSN, and GIS technologies for real-time water pollution source tracing [56].…”

“…It is one of the major threats to sustainability. Currently, the water resources (i.e., rivers, lakes, seawater) are contaminated due to the rapid growth of human beings and the industrial companies that dump their wastes in the water [4,13,29,34,45,48,49,51,55,64,65]. However, water pollution contributes to various disasters despite the reduction of the available sources of drinking water.…”
