Air‐Stable Conductive Polymer Ink for Printed Wearable Micro‐Supercapacitors

Abstract: Additionally, the support provided by Ceshigo Research Service (https:// www.ceshigo.com/) for XPS characterization is really appreciated. Written informed consent was obtained from the volunteers for the demonstration of MSCs as wearable power sources for small electronics.

“…In the spectrum of CPH, the characteristic peaks located at 1560, 1491 cm -1 are corresponded to the C = C stretching vibration of quinoid and benzenoid ring, respectively. 41 The peak located at 1301 cm -1 is attributed to the C-N stretching vibration of imine group of PANI backbone, and the peak of 1140 cm -1 is attributed to the C = N As for the peak of 820 cm -1 , it is assigned to the out-of-plane bending vibration of C-H bond located in benzenoid ring. All these above-mentioned characteristic peaks confirmedly demonstrate the existence of PANI.…”

“…A reference scan of pure PANI in dedoped state is also depicted in Figure 2E for comparison. In the spectrum of CPH, the characteristic peaks located at 1560, 1491 cm –1 are corresponded to the C = C stretching vibration of quinoid and benzenoid ring, respectively 41 . The peak located at 1301 cm –1 is attributed to the C‐N stretching vibration of imine group of PANI backbone, and the peak of 1140 cm –1 is attributed to the C = N stretching vibration of ‐N = Q = N‐ unit (Q represents quinoid ring).…”

“…Stability of the TBAN's power source to maintain its operation is critical; therefore, the TBAN needs a corresponding soft power source that will not compromise the integral conformability and wearability (7,8). Over the past decades, considerable efforts have been devoted to flexible supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries for wearable bioelectronics (9)(10)(11). While flexible supercapacitors have high power density, their insufficient energy density and short discharge duration limit their practical applications (12,13).…”

“…Batteries and supercapacitors are commonly used as energy storage units, but they are generally bulky and rigid, which is not ideal for wearable devices [19][20][21][22]. Therefore, efforts are focused on the development of flexible and very thin batteries and supercapacitors [23][24][25][26][27][28][29]. There are a few recent review papers on the advances in materials for supercapacitors [30][31][32]; however, a comprehensive review on the fabrication technologies for carbon electrode-based micro-supercapacitors is lacking.…”
