“aist” small satellites' family, a joint project between rsc “progress” and ssau, thermocontrol system performance analysis

Abstract: The article presents a performance analysis of the small satellite thermocontrol system based on the telemetry data received by the ground control complex GCC-SSAU. The performance analysis was carried out on "AIST" (RS43-as) and "AIST" (RS-41at) small satellites. Ground testing of the thermocontrol system was performed in the thermo-vacuum chamber on the testing facility of RSС "Progress". The article gives an overview of the operational capabilities of the thermocontrol system. The performance analysis of th… Show more

“…The resulting heat flux was set to 1460 W/m 2 . The initial temperature of the satellite was set to be 40 о С, as the averaged measured value, obtained from telemetry [4]. The analysis was carried out for the following starting conditions:  inclination of the satellite's orbit is 90 о ;  initial temperature for all structural elements is 40 о С;  satellite stays in the "Overheat" mode for 24 hours;  the heat flux during "Overheat" mode is constant;  the satellite is made from composite aluminum panels, covered with photo elements made of GaAs.…”
