Objective: To demonstrate from the scientific literature the strategies and guidelines for breastfeeding for puerperal women with COVID-19. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review, where a search was carried out in the databases of SCIELO, PUBMED, MEDLINE, LILACS, BDENF, Scopus, Science Direct, Embase, Web of Science, BVS and Google Scholar, using the following descriptors: “Breastfeeding”, “COVID-19” and “SARSCoV-2”, crossing them using the Boolean “AND” connector. Initially, 100 articles were selected, with a sample of 09 articles. Results and Discussion: The pandemic causedby COVID-19 has generated and continues to generate major social, economic, political and health impacts. Pregnant women are included in the risk group by the WHO as a result of high mortality rates, the physiological changes that pregnancy presents, emotional vulnerability and mental stress, and nutritional conditions that affect the health of the fetus. Mother-infant vertical transmission is not completely ruled out, since the literature cannot state the real possibility, however, studies show that the benefits of breastfeeding and the motherbaby relationship outweigh the potential risks of transmission. Final Considerations:It is concluded, therefore, that breastfeeding is an important ally when it comes to the growth and development of the child, being recommended even if the mother is suspected or infectedwith COVID-19, as the benefits of breastfeeding outweigh your risks.
