An approach to complexity-reduced filtering of signals digitized in a way based on precise timing of the signal and sine-wave reference function crossing events is described. It is shown that at this type of signal digitizing the sampled signals has a predetermined constant envelope leading to the possibility of performing digital filtering and the original signal parameter estimation in the time and frequency domains without repetitious multiplications of the signal sample values and the filtering coefficients. Benefits obtainable in this way are evaluated and described in the context of widening the functions of the high performance Event Timer A033-ET system.
